UPMC Center for Intestinal Health and Nutrition Support
The Center for
Intestinal Health and Nutrition Support at UPMC specializes in the
evaluation and treatment of medical conditions that disrupt nutrient
processing. The center targets patients who are malnourished or
at risk for malnutrition as a result of chronic medical illnesses
or following surgery.
Nutrition specialists
at the center consult with a variety of patients, including those
with:
Part of the
center’s role is to monitor and manage patients receiving
specialized nutrition by tube feeding or intravenous feeding. Emphasis
is placed on improving the function of the gastrointestinal tract
by providing specialized nutrients, nutritional support, training,
and education.

is located at the Digestive Disorders Center, on the third floor
of UPMC
Presbyterian, 200 Lothrop St., in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh.

are referred to the center by their physicians or they may self-refer
to the center if they have been treated or referred for nutrition
support services before and bring all past records with them.
